Cardi B is nominated for Best Rap Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards for “Outside,” but she seemingly skipped the show.

To be fair, she may have a pretty good reason! The rapper was back in her hometown of New York, where she performed “Bodega Baddie” and “ErrTime” as Saturday Night Live’s musical guest on January 31.

While we’re bummed to miss Cardi on the Grammys stage, the Am I the Drama? artist talked about “Outside” being a song of “empowerment and revenge” for fans ahead of her nomination.

During an interview with CBS, she said, “It is what it is. It’s like, all right, you won’t like it if I play!” She was also asked whether or not she ascribes to Michelle Obama’s philosophy of “when they go low, we go high,” saying a simple “no” (iconic) and adding, “When they go low, I take it to hell. Where the lava is at. The volcano erupted. That’s where I take it. I don’t take it high, I take it low. In hell. Hot. Michelle, I get the positivity, but sometimes you just gotta take it to hell.”

Love her so much.
