Taylor Lautner and his wife, Tay Lautner, have been together since 2018, and they're the cutest. The Twilight alum's sister Makena Moore introduced the actor to his future wife, and the couple went public with their relationship in 2018 before he proposed to her in 2021. Then, a year later on November 11, 2022, Taylor and Taylor made things official by getting married!
So who is the lucky lady who managed to snag everyone's werewolf dream boy and singlehandedly break every Team Jacob girly's heart? Here's what to know about Taylor Lautner's wife, Tay Lautner.
Tay was introduced to Taylor by his sister
Tay Lautner (née Dome) and Taylor’s sister Makena Moore are besties, and the actor told People he gives his sister full credit for bringing the two together.
"My sister Makena actually introduced us," he recalled to the outlet. "She called me and said, 'Dude, I found your future wife. You need to meet this girl.' And the rest is history."
He also talked about their meet-cute on The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2022.
"It's just me and my sister so we're super close, and she always said that she was gonna introduce me to my future wife, and I was like, 'Sure,'" he told Kelly. "I love game nights. She's like, 'Throw a game night, invite me and some of my friends over, and I'll bring Tay. She'll just be one of them, and you guys can just meet.' We hit it off, and the rest is history."
The couple got married at a winery
On November 11, 2022, the Taylors got married at Epoch Estate Wines outside of Paso Robles, California. "We did a first look [before the ceremony] because I knew if the first time I saw her was when she was walking down the aisle, I would have lost it," the actor dished to People when recalling the special day.
Roughly 90 people attended the wedding, and according to Tay, "Everything felt so surreal. The flowers, the vines, the sky. We were both very involved in the process so we had high expectations, but it exceeded them for sure."
We're not crying, you are!!!
Tay is a registered nurse
Just call her Tay Lautner, RN. Her husband may be a big-time actor, but Tay wasn't actually part of the Hollywood scene when they met. She graduated in 2019, became a registered nurse, and made an Instagram post thanking her now-husband for his support:
"Where to even begin...Thank you for encouraging me when I felt like quitting. Thank you for all the meals you'd make me when I was too busy studying. Thank you for quizzing me and trying to pronounce medical terms and abbreviations. Thank you for your calming hugs when I would be getting an anxiety attack. Thank you for supporting me endlessly. You mean the world to me & I wouldn't be where I am today without you💝," she wrote in the sweet caption.
And she has started a mental health website
Tay is also an influencer who uses her platform to advocate for mental health support. In January 2022, she launched her website LEMONS by Tay.
"LEMONS by tay🍋 introducing my self care & mental health website, blog, and resource✨," she wrote in the Instagram post announcing the site. "An open and honest space where I will be sharing regularly about a variety of topics...from different mental health exercises & tips that I have found to be beneficial, to self care practices & products that I love, to even providing resources for those looking for a little extra help. my biggest hope for LEMONS by tay is to help you realize how important it is to prioritize your mental health, even if you have never struggled with it before. and above all, to know that you are not alone. when life gives you lemons, what do you do with them?"
The couple even has a podcast together!
On February 1, 2023, Taylor and Tay started their mental health podcast, The Squeeze.
"Host @taylautner's introduction to mental health was at a young age, witnessing friends and family suffer in ways she couldn't fully understand," the couple wrote in a post on the podcast's Instagram page. "She started a nursing career in the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic and has been struggling with her own depression, anxiety and PTSD ever since. Tay is joined by co-host, husband @taylorlautner, in addition to celebrity and expert guests to further the conversation surrounding mental wellness."
Tay and Taylor have matching tattoos
Taylor surprised Tay with an at-home ink session for her 26th birthday, and they got matching tats of their wedding date (11.11.22) on their wrists.
Aww!
And they’re both Taylor Swift fans, of course
Tay Lautner and Taylor Swift have something in common (aside from their first names); They both dated Taylor Lautner! But don't worry, the Taylors don't have any "Bad Blood." When speaking on Bachelor alum Nick Viall's podcast The Viall Files, Tay revealed that she is an "OG fan" of the musician.
"I went to one of her first concerts like ever. It was at the tiniest theater. My best friend loved her, and then I did, too," she told Nick.
In July 2023, Mr. and Mrs. Lautner attended the Eras Tour in Kansas City, Missouri, and the actor joined the singer onstage to premiere the music video for her song "I Can See You," which features Taylor.
"He was a very positive force in my life when I was making the Speak Now album, and I want to say he did every single stunt that you saw in that music video," Blondie said of her ex. "He and his wife have become some of my closest friends, and it's very convenient because we all share the same first name."
"The Tale of Three Taylors🤍," Tay wrote in an Instagram post after the concert. "Everything that @taylorlautner said last night on stage is so true. @taylorswift you are not only one of the most talented people to ever walk this earth (truly I don't think there is anything you can't do) but you are also one of THE kindest people. You welcomed my husband and I into your camp with open arms and the warmest heart. The way you are so down to earth and authentically yourself after all these years of being in the spotlight is inspiring. Your passion for your work and genuine love for your fans is something so incredible. I am honored to call you a friend🫶🏻 2023➡️2010."
"Not sure how I pulled this off but I'll take it," Taylor joked in the comment section.
Tay was Team Edward 😬
If you've ever wondered whether Taylor's wife had seen the Twilight movies and was a fan of his before they got together, the answer is yes—but she was Team Edward.
In June 2022, she posted a vid to her Instagram using the "show your childhood crush and then the person you ended up with" audio, showing a pic of Robert Pattison as vampire Edward Cullen.
"I think it's time to come clean," she captioned the post.
Obsessed with these two! ❤️
