Bridgerton is back with a whole new slew of characters for us to fall in love with (while they fall in love with each other). But missing from this season? Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma, who were nowhere to be found in the Part 1 of Bridgerton Season 4. Here's what's going on—and details on when/if the couple are returning.
Where Are Kate and Anthony in Bridgerton Part 1?
The show explained the couple's absence pretty quickly: they're in India and have a baby boy, aka the "little heir."
Were Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley Written Out?
No! At least not entirely.
Showrunner Jess Brownell told Teen Vogue in 2024, "I think the strength of sending them off to India for a little while is that it does leave the door open for them to come back, schedules allowing. I think, understandably, when any of our lead actors have given over their lives for their season, in future seasons, we want to be supportive of the fact that they do have other projects coming in, and to ask actors to come back just to be in the background is not really fair to them."
So, Are Kate and Anthony Returning in Part 2?
Yes! Simone told Brit + Co in 2025 "I can't tease anything, but I can say I was filming a couple of weeks ago, with the girls. I'm super excited to be back on the show. I'm so grateful for everything that that show has given me, and whenever I go back it, it just feels like home."
Meanwhile, Jonathan told Good Morning America in 2024 "We’re going to follow the stories. The thing about Bridgerton, which is so brilliant, is that there’s so many different ways you can fall in love as humans and that’s what this show will explore. Obviously being the older brother, I’m going to be there to support the youngsters as we go."
