According to a source for Us Weekly, the breakup happened “a few weeks ago,” adding, “It was after the holidays and is still very recent and fresh.” Per the insider, Bella went on a girls’ trip to the Virgin Islands as a way to decompress after the split and now she’s thrown herself “back into work and is very focused.”
“It was the perfect escape for her,” said the source of the trip. “She’s been really heartbroken and thought Adan was The One. Her girlfriends and her family have been lifting her up in the last few weeks.”
As far as what drove the couple to split: The source cited “busy schedules” and the complications of dating “long distance,” noting, “[It started] when she got busier with work promoting her new series” (referring to The Beauty) and “taking on more campaigns and events with Orebella.”
And that’s not all, either! “They also realized they had differing opinions and values about life and their future,” the insider continued. “There was a lot that was putting strain on the relationship. Adan really wanted her to be in Texas with him, but Bella was ready to spread her wings again and take on more work in Los Angeles and New York.”
On January 26, Entertainment Tonight broke the news of Bella and Adan’s split, saying, “Bella is doing her best to stay positive and distract herself since their split.”
Soon after, a source for Page Six weighed in, claiming the pair has actually “been on-again, off-again” and have had a “tumultuous” relationship this whole time. Oh, and they reportedly have “business ties,” and purchased “million-dollar horses together,” which means their breakup is extra complicated.
