Kyle Cooke is breaking his silence on his split from Amanda Batula for the first time since they announced their breakup with a joint statement on January 19. During a chat with Hollywood Raw podcast host Adam Glyn, Kyle insisted that “there’s still a lot of love” between him and his ex.
“I think people will be surprised but also happy to see that Amanda and I are in a good spot,” he said in the clip, which was posted to TikTok on Thursday, January 22. “Obviously, the internet’s gonna do its thing, but you know, we literally pushed send together.”
He added, “It’s a lot to swallow when your entire relationship from the very, very beginning is on TV. So we knew it wasn’t gonna be easy.”
Of course, it wasn’t a huge surprise that he and Amanda had been on the outs, which the reality star acknowledged: “It was like the worst kept secret, but we just weren’t ready to talk about it.”
ICYMI, sources first told Page Six that the former couple had been “going through a challenging time” in their marriage in November 2025. They also alleged that Kyle and Amanda had been living separately at that point, but that they were “both committed to working on their relationship.”
In the clip, the Loverboy founder further explained, “We weren’t lying about it. We didn’t split, we didn’t separate. We were trying to figure out the best way to give our relationship another shot. And ultimately, we decided we don’t wanna give each other false hope, we don’t wanna give our friends and family false hope, we don’t wanna give fans false hope… There’s no playbook. We were very much on the same page where we knew we needed to create some space… This is not some big surprise.”
While this marks Kyle’s first public acknowledgment of the split since it was announced, fans shared that they weren’t expecting such a quick response from him.
“He doesn’t look or sound as devastated as I thought he would,” one person commented, while another speculated that the video was pre-recorded because of weather changes. “This interview has to be a few weeks old, there’s no snow on the ground. It’s been snowing in NY a lot for at least 3 weeks,” they wrote.
Kyle and Amanda, whose relationship played a pivotal role in the early seasons of Summer House, announced their decision to break up with a joint statement posted to Instagram on Monday, January 19.
“After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple. We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing,” the couple wrote, in part.
They added, “It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time since we’ve always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter.”
But if you’re worried how this will affect the premiere of Summer House season 10 on February 3, fret not—Kyle assured fans that he and Amanda would still be doing press together. “This isn’t like a big breakup where there’s a smoking gun and there’s a lot of hate,” he said in the clip, adding, “We got each other’s back.”
