• The tenth and final season of Queer Eye hit Netflix on Jan. 21.
  • Off-screen drama has emerged after Karamo Brown skipped press appearances with the rest of the Fab Five due to fears of “being bullied.”
  • Antoni Porowski has seemingly weighed in on the “backstage” drama with Karamo in a series of social media posts.

While the Queer Eye Fab Five has been changing lives and teaching their heroes how to practice acceptance and lead with love, it seems like things may be totally different behind-the-scenes. As the tenth and final season of the Netflix reality series hit the streamer earlier this week, Karamo Brown has made headlines for skipping group interviews with the rest of his castmates, Jonathan Van Ness, Antoni Porowski, Tan France, and Jeremiah Brent.

Ex-cast member Bobby Berk (who left the show after season eight in 2023) already responded to Karamo’s alleged drama with a social media post...but it seems another member of the Fab Five might have weighed in, too.

On January 21, culinary expert Antoni posted an Instagram carousel highlighting some memories from filming Queer Eye season 10 with the caption, “It’s not about how or even that it ended- the journey of it all was the part I’ll hold close to my heart.”

He later added, “Thank you to each and every one of you who watched, laughed, cried, screamed, binged, and related to the stories we were lucky enough to be a part of for almost a decade. tenth and final season of @queereye is now on Netflix.”

As fans mourned the end of the heartwarming series in his comments section, someone pointed out their grievances with the alleged behind-the-scenes rift making headlines.

“The backstage drama kinda kills the vibe of the show. I’m not motivated to watch you all portray to be a big happy family on every episode knowing it’s all fake,” one person wrote, adding, “If you can’t work out your own mess, how can you be in charge of fixing someone else’s life?”

Antoni took a moment to clear the air and responded, “A lot of us come from complicated families and still have jobs and positive things we’re passionate about. Authenticity is about being honest about the complexities of life and knowing two things can exist at the same time.”

His comment comes after Karamo abruptly canceled an appearance with the rest of the cast on CBS Mornings “less than an hour” before it began out of a fear of “being bullied” on Tuesday, January 20.

At the time, Antoni responded to Karamo’s sudden absense, saying, “Surprised is a fair understatement. I will say, our Queer Eye family, we’ve been doing this for almost a decade—which is pretty wild to believe—and families are complicated and we’re definitely not excluded from that.”

That same day, Karamo doubled down on his priority to protect his mental health when he skipped a separate appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle. In a video message he shared for the broadcast, he said, “Just like the themes of this season, I’m modeling what I believe is most important, which I want to remind you all, love yourselves and protect yourselves. That’s why I’m here at home and not there.”
