Like any perfume aficionado, I categorize my fragrances by the seasons—my deeper, richer scents are reserved for the fall and winter, while my light and bright scents are saved for spring and summer. Lately, though, I've found myself breaking all my rules.

Maybe it's because this winter has been extra dark and unendingly cold (my seasonal depression hit hard this year), but I've been yearning for the warmer months and the joy that comes with them. To tide me over until spring and summer finally arrive, I've caught myself incessantly spritzing Lancôme Idôle Peach 'N Roses, the newest fragrance in the Idôle lineup with Olivia Rodrigo as its face.

This fruity, floral perfume is the antithesis of a winter perfume: It's sparkling, juicy, and soft. Honestly, I find it genius that Lancôme launched this Idôle flanker in January—it's like the brand knew we needed an extra hint of bliss in our lives. I've spent the past few weeks wearing Peach 'N Roses, and while it's a far departure from the perfumes I usually gravitate towards (even in the summer), it's quickly becoming a staple in my scent library. Keep reading to discover why it's mine (and Olivia Rodrigo's) fave.

What does Lancôme Idôle Peach 'N Roses Smell Like?

Key notes: Red berries, juicy peach, velvety rose

Much like the name of the scent suggests, Peach 'N Roses smells like, well, peaches and roses. While the notes are pretty simple, the overall perfume is far from basic. In fact, it took three expert perfumers—Nadége Le Garlantezec, Adriana Medina, and Shyamala Maisondieu—to perfect the potion.

The fragrance opens with a bright burst of succulent red berries that smell so realistic, your mouth will probably start to water at the first sniff. This feeling amplifies as the ripest, juiciest peach accord emerges in the middle. I find that peach notes can sometimes read musty on skin, but this one radiates pure, unadulterated peaches picked right off the tree. Finally, the dry down remains soft with delicate, velvety rose petals, the signature aroma of all the perfumes in the Idôle collection.

Each Idôle scent retains a luxurious rose DNA, but Peach N' Roses is the flirtiest and most youthful of the bunch. The original Idôle feels more mature and refined with a mix of rose and jasmine paired with a musk base; Idôle Power Intense is more robust and intoxicating with two types of roses and creamy sandalwood; Idôle Eau de Toilette feels energizing with a refreshing green tea-citrus burst; and Idôle Now plays into the gourmand perfume craze with rose, white orchid, and a hint of vanilla.

Is Peach 'N Roses long-lasting?

Because this features lighter notes without a deep base (like woods, vanilla, or amber), the longevity isn't suuuuuper long. I can catch subtle whiffs of this on my skin for about four hours after I spray it, and if I want anything more, I need to re-spritz. Luckily, because the bottle is extremely slim, it's easy to stash in my purse when I need an extra misting.

My Peach 'N Roses Review

As I mentioned above, my seasonal depression reared its ugly head with a vengeance this year, and I've been trying everything to mitigate the winter blues. Idôle Peach 'N Roses has proved to be my trusted remedy. Near-negative temperatures have become the norm in New York City, and in an effort to transport myself to a warmer place, I've been reaching for this lively perfume.

The first time I wore this was at the gym. (Yes, I wear perfume to workout—sue me!!) This is light enough and far from cloying to add a bit of freshness to my male-dominated gym. Light wafts of the berry-peach-rose scent reached my nose with each rep and helped me power through a grueling upper-body day.

Beyond the gym, though, I find this to be the ideal daytime scent. Peach 'N Roses isn't overpowering in the slightest—even when I go spritz happy. The aroma has a nuanced, chiffony effect, almost like being wrapped in luxurious silk. It won't upset coworkers' sensitive noses, yet manages to leave people pondering "what is that uplifting scent?" when you pass them.

I will say I wish the staying power were a bit stronger, but it's not surprising that the longevity is mid considering the lighter notes. However, it lingers long enough to transport me to sunnier headspace, which is all I could ever ask for in the depths of winter.

Final thoughts

Lancôme Idôle Peach 'N Roses is an unexpected breath of fresh air, that honestly, I didn't anticipate to like at all. Roses often smell too mature on me, while peach can quickly veer into B.O. territory, but this hits the Goldilocks spot right in the middle. It quickly pulled me out of my wintry funk, and I'm so excited to see how it wears as the weather heats up. (No doubt, it'll be even better in the summer.) Lancôme completely captured a fun, flirty essence in a bottle that is simplistic yet memorable, and I'm confident anyone who spritzes this will enjoy.
