Stranger Things fans are convinced that the show cut huge amounts of footage from Season 5...to the point where there's currently a Change.org petition demanding that said footage is released.

The evidence? Some conflicting information about run-times, and the fact that fans have found footage in previews and BTS features that hasn't been included in the show. They specifically think Will and Vecna's storyline has been shortened, that there was way more Mike, and even that Joyce had a "fake out" death.

So...is there "unseen footage?" Not so much. Randy Havens, aka everyone's favorite teacher Scott Clarke, reportedly hopped on Instagram and debunked this theory, saying "There’s no secret Snyder cut of the show. Please don’t believe everything some random ass tells you on the internet."

Meanwhile, the Duffers previously debunked theories about the show's runtimes being longer, with Ross Duffer sharing some of the fake/rumored times on Instagram and writing "lol not even close to accurate."

That said, it's worth pointing out that almost every television show / movie films extra footage that ends up being cut. The Duffers previously revealed that "We spent a full year filming this season. By the end, we’d captured over 650 hours of footage. So, needless to say, this is our biggest and most ambitious season yet."

Just keep in mind that raw footage isn't the same as a secret unseen cut of these episodes!
