- In October, a rumor began circulating that Taylor Swift had bought a couple out of their June 13, 2026 date at a Rhode Island wedding venue.
- Page Six has since reported that Taylor and Travis paid a couple to switch their wedding date so they could get married at Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, on June 13.
- The venue’s Director of Sales & Marketing has debunked Page Six’s report in conversation with TMZ.
We all know that Taylor Swift is a mastermind who lives, breathes, and sleeps the number 13. It’s her lucky number that’s played a huge role in her life, as she explained to MTV in 2009: “I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th. My first album went gold in 13 weeks. My first No. 1 song had a 13-second intro. Every time I’ve won an award I’ve been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter.”
So no one was terribly shocked when rumors started swirling that Taylor’s upcoming wedding with Travis Kelce would reportedly take place on June 13, 2026...but the way Taylor was rumored to have secured said wedding date was a bit surprising. In October, the After Work Drinks podcast revealed that they had received a tip-off from one of their listeners who claimed a “friend’s friend” was bought out of her wedding date at an undisclosed venue in Rhode Island on June 13, 2026.
“They think it might be Taylor Swift,” the caller added. “June 13 is the only 13th that falls on a Saturday, and it’s near Taylor’s house in Rhode Island.”
The rumors were fueled *further* when Page Six reported that Taylor and Travis had booked Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, for—you guessed it—Saturday, June 13, 2026. Multiple sources told the outlet that another couple had already booked the venue for that day, but Taylor allegedly “dipped into her deep pockets and made an offer the bride couldn’t refuse” so they could change the date.
However, take that with a grain of salt, because Stephanie Leavitt, Area Director of Sales & Marketing for Ocean House, just debunked the bizarre rumor, assuring TMZ that the venue “would never allow one couple to buy another’s wedding date.”
“When clients and their families choose Ocean House as their wedding venue, it is an agreement and commitment between our team and that family. Ocean House would not and is not allowing another party or entity to buy a wedding group out of a contracted wedding date,” she told the outlet.
Out of respect for her clients’ privacy, Stephanie didn’t disclose if anyone would be getting married in the space at all, adding, “We appreciate the interest in our brides and grooms yet allow them to confirm their wedding location with who they choose.”
Like most aspects of their relationship, Taylor and Travis have kept details surrounding their nuptials under wraps…but that ^^^ nugget of information makes for another interesting development.
