Wicked: For Good has been leaving fans obsessulated as they find out what happened to Elphaba and Glinda in the second act of the film adaption of the iconic musical. And this time they're not alone as some more of the iconic characters of the Wizard of Oz finally make an appearance, including Dorothy and her crew as they make their way to meet the Wizard himself. This also means we finally get to meet the Scarecrow, who surprisingly plays a bigger part in the musical than some fans might have initially expected. So just who is the Scarecrow?

Who is the Scarecrow in Wicked: For Good?

Of course, we're getting into major spoiler territory right now for Wicked: For Good, so you're definitely going to want to turn away if you haven't seen the film just yet...

The Scarecrow is none other than Fiyero himself! He is turned into the Scarecrow by Elphaba's spell in "No Good Deed" in which she tries to protect him after he is taken away from the Wizard's guards for protecting Elphaba. In the song, she says:

Let his flesh not be torn
Let his blood leave no stain
Though they beat him
Let him feel no pain
Let his bones never break
And however they try
To destroy him
Let him never die

Elphaba herself also starts to question her own spell, wondering if Fiyero is still even alive as she prepares for one last showdown against the Wizard.

While in her new hideout, Chistery gives Elphaba a piece of Fiyero's uniform, making it seem that he's died. However, there's actually a hidden note that is not seen that proves that he's still alive and coming to her. Likely, he's the one that came up with her plan to use the bucket of water to fake Elphaba's death.

In the end, Fiyero, now as the Scarecrow, knocks on the hidden cellar door that Elphaba has been hiding in and the two head away from Oz, finally at peace and together, and using the belief that they are both dead and gone to their advantage to start a new life with one another.
