- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are rumored to be planning a trip to Australia in 2026, which reportedly “is not sitting well” with Prince William.
- A source claims William dislikes the idea of the Sussexes being “treated like visiting royalty,” since they’re no longer working royals.
- The trip would be their first return since their 2018 royal tour—before stepping down as working royals and before their son Archie was born.
Rumor has it that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning a trip to Australia for 2026—and apparently, Prince William isn’t happy about it. According to a source for the National Examiner, the news of the Sussexes’ upcoming visit “is not sitting well with William,” as he reportedly doesn’t like the idea of Harry and Meghan being “treated like visiting royalty.”
Per the source, “He sees that kind of thing as fraudulent, and now that he’s aware they are planning this trip down under, he will be reaching out to all his contacts there to let his feelings be known.” They added that, from William’s point of view, “he’s just protecting the interests of the Crown” as the Sussexes “are no longer [working] royals.”
It was first speculated that Harry and Meghan might have a trip Down Under in the works when celebrity astrologer, Angela Pearl, took to social media to share a letter from the Sussexes. They concluded their note with a mention of wanting to “visit Australia again,” though they didn’t share any definitive plans.
Meanwhile, an insider told the National Examiner that Meghan and Harry “have been wanting to go back to Australia for a while now” and “are saying it’s a priority for next year, ideally in the first quarter.”
As you might recall, the Sussexes’ last trip to Australia (which was the first major royal tour they ever did as a couple) took place all the way back in 2018, before they stepped down as working royals. At the time, the two were newly married, and Meghan was pregnant with Archie, so...it’s been a while!
Confusingly, this ^^^ all comes amid the news that “William has been placated about Harry coming back into the fold” following Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s banishment. As royal insider Ian Pelham Turner recently told The Mirror, “There seems to be accelerations at the moment. One acceleration is bringing Harry back.”
It’s unclear what “bringing Harry back” would look like, but perhaps Wills getting behind Harry’s rumored Australia visit would be a good place to start!
