If you’re all caught up with Selling the OC season 4, then you know that Alex Hall and Tyler Stanaland put an end to their will-they-won’t-they dynamic for good, allowing Alex to finally (!!) move on with her new boyfriend, Ian Young. The season even saw the two get a home in Temecula together, which seemed promising...but now fans are wondering: Are Alex Hall and her boyfriend Ian still together? Unfortunately, the answer seems to be a resounding no.
The breakup speculation began after a fan slid into Alex’s comments section from her Instagram post hard-launching her relationship with Ian to ask, “R u guys still together?” to which Alex simply replied, “No.”
Soon after, she took to her Instagram Stories to spill some more tea, explaining what exactly went down between herself and Ian. In response to a fan who asked whether she was “still with [her] bf who was on the show,” Alex wrote, “No...and it’s been a complete cluster fuck.”
She continued, “I moved to Temecula with an open heart but some things came to light that did not align with what I want mine and my kids’ future to look like. I no longer have my home in San Clemente and all my furniture and belongings are currently in a storage facility and the kids and I are in a short-term rental in Dana Point.”
She concluded with, “We are looking for a new home but haven’t found one yet. Sometimes you can have the best intentions but reality just doesn’t play out the way you imagined it would.”
As a reminder: Ian and Alex briefly dated before Tyler came into the picture, and based on a May 2025 Instagram post, it seems like Alex and Ian first met after her mom dated Ian’s dad and invited him for Christmas dinner three years ago.
The two later reconciled and even decided to move in together—and though Selling the OC season 4 was filmed months ago, Alex recently told Tudum that she and Ian were still going strong.
“I’ve still got my place here in Orange County. We’ve also got the house in Temecula,” she said in the interview, which was published on November 12. “Trying to merge both [lifestyles] is what we’re trying to figure out right now. But everything’s going great, and I’m still very excited.”
So much for that!
