• After years of advocacy work surrounding prison reform, Kim Kardashian decided to follow in the footsteps of her late father, Robert Kardashian, and attend law school in 2019.
  • Since then, she’s taken and passed the baby bar exam and begun a four-year apprenticeship with a law firm in San Francisco.
  • Kim has revealed her results after her first attempt at taking the bar exam this year.

Kim Kardashian is one step closer to becoming a lawyer. (And, no, we’re not talking about her role on Ryan Murphy’s new show, All’s Fair.) After passing the “baby bar” exam in December 2021 and the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam back in March, the reality TV star finally took the bar exam six years after first deciding to pursue a law degree. Now everyone is wondering the same thing: Did Kim Kardashian pass the bar on her first attempt?

In response to curious fans, Kim shared the results to her Instagram Stories, writing, “Well…I’m not a lawyer yet. I just play a very well-dressed one on TV. Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up—just more studying and even more determination. Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way so far.”

She continued, “Falling short isn’t a failure—it’s fuel. I was so close to passing the exam and that only motivates me even more. Let’s Go!!!!!!!!!”

The news of her failing the bar comes after Kim admitted she used AI assistance to help her study for law school exams. During a recent interview alongside Teyana Taylor for Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector video series, Kim said she used ChatGPT but didn’t find it very helpful.

“I use it for legal advice,” Kim dished. “So, when I am needing to know the answer to a question, I’ll take a picture and snap it and put it in there. They’re always wrong. It has made me fail tests all the time.”

“And then I’ll get mad and yell at it and be like, ‘You made me fail. Why did you do this?’” she continued. “And it will talk back to me. I will talk to it and say, ‘Hey, you’re going to make me fail. How does it make you feel? …I need to really know these answers, and I’m coming to you.’ And it’ll say back to me, ‘This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts. You knew the answer all along.’”

During another interview on the All’s Fair press tour, Kim revealed that she hopes to eventually “give up” being Kim K and be a trial lawyer.

“I have a few projects coming up—I film my first movie in January, and we are hoping for a season 2 of All’s Fair,” Kim said on BBC’s The Graham Norton Show, per People. “I always want to be growing, curious and evolving, and I want to see wherever that takes me.”

At the time, she was still waiting on her bar exam results and shared, “I will be qualified in two weeks. I hope to practice law. Maybe in 10 years, I think I’ll give up being Kim K and be a trial lawyer. That’s what I really want.”
