Update 11/11: Attn, everyone who is still spiraling over that photo of Orlando Bloom’s alleged GF dressed as Katy Perry for Halloween: You’ve been duped. Though Rachel Lynn Matthews was indeed dressed like Katy Perry for the night, she is not dating Orly—and apparently, she just happened to cross paths with him on Halloween night.
After cropped screenshots of Rachel’s Instagram Story (which showed a selfie of herself with Orly on Halloween) went viral, and uncropped version emerged, which included a very important detail: Rachel’s caption. Under the photo, she wrote, “Will tell my kids about this one day @orlandobloom,” which gives random run-in waaay more than dating, no?

Original story 11/10: It seems Justin Trudeau wasn’t the only one whose costume served as an homage to Katy Perry this Halloween. (In case you missed it: He was Left Shark.) According to new photos published by TMZ and People, Happy Death Day actor Rachel Lynn Matthews dressed up as Katy Perry herself on October 31...which is awkward, considering she’s rumored to be dating Katy’s ex, Orlando Bloom.
Yep, you read that correctly. According to pics posted to her since-expired Instagram Stories, Rachel dressed as the “California Gurls” singer in a black wig and blue space suit that resembles Katy’s outfit from her Blue Origin space mission back in April.
She posed alongside the Lord of the Rings actor in a close-up shot, but the second pic in particular seems like a nod to Katy kissing the ground as she returned from her 11-minute mission with Gayle King, Lauren Sánchez, Amanda Nguyễn, and Aisha Bowe:
The timing of it all is…interesting, considering Katy dropped a new track, “Bandaids”—which is seemingly about her split from Orly—just a few days ago on Friday, November 7. She sings about the fallout of a relationship in lyrics like, “Got so used to you letting me down / No use trying to send flowers now / Telling myself you’ll change you don’t / Bandaids over a broken heart.”
In July 2025, Katy and Orlando released a joint statement confirming their split after nine years together. They made it clear that things are cool between them and that they intend to co-parent their young daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, together.
“Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting,” the statement said. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is—and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
Since then, Katy has been spotted on a few dates with former Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, and they even hard-launched when they walked hand-in-hand during KP’s birthday celebration in Paris on October 25.
Per TMZ, nothing between Orlando and Rachel has been confirmed yet but “relationship rumors have been swirling.”
