- Nicole Young made a brief appearance on the Selling Sunset season 9 reunion.
- Jason Oppenheim clarified that Nicole was not fired from The Oppenheim Group.
- Nicole previously claimed that she wasn't given a chance to tell her side of the story at the reunion.
After an extremely dramatic exit from both The Oppenheim Group and Selling Sunset in season 9, Nicole Young is back—temporarily. Sitting down with the cast and Tan France, Nicole appeared on the Selling Sunset season 9 reunion to set the record straight on her fight with Chrishell Stause at the now infamous Girlsgiving and whether or not she was fired from the O Group.
On the show, fans watched Nicole cross a line when she brought up Chrishell's parents while attempting to defend herself from drug use allegations. After that, Jason and Brett Oppenheim asked her to leave the office, but they later told the entire cast that they had “asked her to leave the brokerage,” leaving fans wondering if Nicole was actually fired or just working from home.
At the season 9 reunion, Nicole refused to apologize to Chrishell for her comment, and after some back and forth, the topic turned to her dramatic exit mid season. Brett called having to ask Nicole to leave the office “the hardest thing I've had to do professionally,” but Jason had a much more positive view of the situation. “I'm still working with Nicole,” Jason said. “Nicole's not out of the brokerage.” Nicole then interjected, “I wasn't fired is what he was saying.” Jason continued, “I think it was healthy for Nicole to step away from the office.”
So, no, Nicole was not fired from The Oppenheim Group. She does, however, appear to have been let go from the show itself, if her brief reunion appearance was any indication. Nicole only appeared for one segment of the reunion, unlike the rest of the main cast, suggesting that her role has, at the very least, been downgraded.
In fact, Nicole's appearance at the season 9 reunion was so short, she didn't even have the opportunity to talk about what leaving the office was like for her. Instead, after Jason spoke, Nicole was unceremoniously dismissed from the reunion. And if it looked like Nicole had more to say on the matter, that's because she did.
In a TikTok posted back in August, Nicole teased the season 9 reunion and made it very clear that she felt robbed of the chance to tell her side of the story. She claimed that she had waited eight hours in her trailer before being called in to join production, only for Tan to ask her about “one specific instance” (which we now know was Girlsgiving) and then dismiss her.
“I've really just never experienced a situation where it was so obvious that the intent was to not give me the opportunity to speak,” she said at the time. “Unreal.”
