- Prince William will reportedly ban his uncle Prince Andrew from King Charles' eventual funeral.
- Sources say "it's not even up for debate" and that public outrage would "overshadow the service."
- Prince William reportedly wants to "start his reign clean."
Prince Andrew may have given up his "Duke of York" title, but the disgraced royal is still occupying a giant mansion in Windsor and is a huge thorn in Prince William's side. To the point where William plans to completely ban his disgraced uncle from royal events when he's King—including his eventual coronation and the annual family Christmas. And now Rob Shuter's #ShuterScoop reports that Andrew "will not be invited" to King Charles' eventual funeral.
"It’s not even up for debate," a courtier says. "William wants to start his reign clean — no scandal, no shame, no Andrew."
Another aide says, "He’s no longer part of the working royal family. Public outrage would overshadow the service," while yet another notes that "his title may still be Prince, but the palace doors are closing fast."
This echoes what royal author Tina Brown reported in her Fresh Hell Substack (via the Daily Mail), where she wrote, "The thornier question, perhaps approaching faster than anyone is indelicate enough to discuss, is whether, in the fullness of time, Andrew will be allowed to attend his brother, the king’s, funeral."
Sounds like the answer is no, especially since Prince William "can't abide him." And speaking of Wills, he and Kate Middleton are desperate for Andrew to leave the Royal Lodge—which is just a stone's throw from their new house in Windsor. More on that saga below.
