• The latest Colleen Hoover novel-to-movie adaptation is Regretting You.
  • The film stars Allison Williams, Mckenna Grace, Dave Franco, and Mason Thames.
  • Find out when and where you can watch the movie in theaters or at home.

Colleen Hoover's novels are hugely popular, so it's not surprising that another one has been adapted into a movie. (And there are even more in production.) Following the major box office success—and ongoing legal battle—of It Ends with Us, the next Hoover adaptation is Regretting You.

The film is based on the 2019 book of the same name, and follows a mother, Morgan (Allison Williams), and her teenage daughter, Clara (Mckenna Grace), who already have a strained relationship when a tragic event shakes up their lives. (Trying not to give anything away here, though the trailer does...) The plot is focused on Clara and Morgan's relationship, and also has romantic storylines for both of them.

For some, this rom-drama might sound like a great night out at the movies. For others, maybe it's more of a cozy night in front of the TV sort of flick. Read on to find out when and how to watch it both ways.

When is Regretting You coming out?

Regretting You hits U.S. theaters on Friday, October 24, 2025, but as usual, some theaters will have early showings on the evening of Thursday, October 23.

How can I watch Regretting You in theaters?

Just look up whether it's available in a theater near you on Fandango or on the cinema's website. From there, you can purchase your ticket online or find a showtime that works for you and buy a ticket in person. And considering this is a Hoover adaptation, you might want to pack some tissues.

How can I watch Regretting You at home?

Wanna tear up in the privacy of your own home? There's no confirmed date yet for when Regretting You will be streaming and available to rent or buy, but we do have some clues.

Regretting You is distributed by Paramount, which means that it will stream on Paramount+ first. Often, Paramount movies hit the streaming platform around two months after their theatrical release date and one month after they are available as video on demand. This was the case for other releases from this year, including Novocaine, Smurfs, and The Naked Gun.

There are some exceptions. For instance, Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning was released in theaters on May 23 and it is still not streaming on Paramount+, though it is on VOD. (Probably because it was a blockbuster and can still make even more money this way.)

Considering all of that, Regretting You will probably be available to rent or buy in mid to late November and available to stream on Paramount+ in mid to late December. If you like watching movies on your holiday break, now you have one more to add to the list!
