• Bad Bunny is performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026.
  • Conservative commentators and politicians have spoken out against the NFL’s decision to book the Puerto Rican singer and rapper as the halftime performer.
  • Fake social media posts about Bad Bunny’s performance have been attributed to former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce—and he’s spoken out about them.

In a strange twist of events leading up to Super Bowl LX, Jason Kelce is out here defending his name after he retired from the NFL. The former Philadelphia Eagles player has spoken out against recent social media posts with a quote falsely attributed to him. The kicker? The fake quote relates to the controversy surrounding Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show.

“If Bad Bunny is a bad fit for the Super Bowl, then maybe the people making these comments are a bad fit for America’s future,” the false quote reads, per the Daily Mail.

According to Rolling Stone, the quote started circulating once conservative activists like Dinesh D’Souza and David Harris Jr. reposted it with their opposing thoughts. However, Jason weighed in and debunked the post on October 14, writing, “I normally don’t comment on things like this, but I feel I need to address that there are a number of accounts posting fake quotes and attributing them to me on this platform right now.”

He showed his gratitude for the social media platform, as it features fact-checking features with community notes.

“I will not address the other accounts specifically, because I do not want to amplify their engagement. But please know, unless you hear something directly from me via one of my platforms, it is not real,” the New Heights podcaster concluded his message.

While Jason didn’t necessarily share how he feels about Bad Bunny’s upcoming performance, an adviser to the Department of Homeland Security reportedly signaled that ICE officials would be at Levi’s Stadium, and right-wing organization Turning Point USA is hosting its own halftime show during the game.

Conservative fans have also started a Change.org petition for country singer George Strait to replace Bad Bunny—whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio—at next year’s halftime show.

President Trump even weighed in on the NFL and Roc Nation’s decision to book Benito on October 6, saying, “I never heard of him. I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it, it’s crazy, and then they blame it on some promoter that they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”

On the flip side, past Super Bowl halftime performers like Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Bruno Mars, and Gloria Estefan have shown their support for the Puerto Rican powerhouse’s upcoming performance.

As for where Jason stands in all this? We probably won’t know unless he posts something himself.
