Cynthia Erivo was nominated at the 2026 Grammys but unfortunately wasn’t able to walk the red carpet due to being busy playing literally a million roles in Dracula! No, literally, she’s doing a one-woman stage adaptation where she’s playing 23 characters including Dracula. Previews start on February 4, which is just three days after the Grammys. So, not exactly a surprise she had to skip!
Cynthia and her Wicked costar Ariana Grande were nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Defying Gravity” (and they won!!!!) and Cynthia was nominated for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella for “Be Okay.” On top of that, Wicked was nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.
Cynthia learned she was nominated for a Grammy while doing press for Wicked and posted the moment on Instagram, writing, “I don’t really have any words. These last couple of years have been beyond the dream, and I’m just really grateful. Thank you.”
