Conan Gray and Corey Fogelmanis have been friends for a hot minute now—though many people didn’t realize the two were even close until Conan cast Corey in several of his Wishbone music videos. In the videos for “This Song,” “Vodka Cranberry,” and “Caramel,” Corey stars alongside Conan as Brando, while Conan plays a character named Wilson. And the trilogy is so intimate that many fans have started to wonder if Conan and Corey are dating IRL.
The answer: Afraid not (as far as I know, anyway). While chatting with People in August 2025, Conan explained why he cast Corey as his love interest. “I knew I couldn’t do it with a stranger, and Corey was right there in my contacts list,” he explained. “I called him up, I said, ‘Hey, Corey. Can we fall in love in a music video?’ I truly don’t think I could have done it if it wasn’t for [him].”
A little background: Conan is close friends with Olivia Rodrigo, while Corey is besties with his former Girl Meets World costar, Sabrina Carpenter—and ofc, Olivia and Sabrina are linked together by the Joshua Bassett of it all. It’s unclear exactly how or when Conan and Corey met (or if Josh had anything to do with it), but during a recent interview with Capital Buzz for Making the Album, Conan revealed that he and Corey first crossed paths nearly a decade earlier.
“I didn’t watch Girl Meets World. I just met him through a bunch of friends,” he said. “I’ve known him for almost a decade now. We’ve been friends for eight years, and he’s just one of the most important people in my life.”
Need to know more about this sweet friendship (especially after Corey made that cameo during Conan’s VMAs performance)? Same. Let’s dive in.

September 2025
During an interview with Teen Vogue, Corey says he doesn’t mind the Conan dating rumors ...oh, and he also reveals that he “has a boyfriend he’s been dating for about five months” (and no, that boyfriend is not Conan).
As he explains, “The way the videos came together made it [so that] people have really taken to the lore. [Conan] literally said to me, ‘People are talking about the songs as if they're about these characters, as if I wrote these songs about Will and Bran.’ And he’s so happy about that… So I think it means we did a good job.”
Not long after, he and Conan hit the red carpet together at the 2025 VMAs...
...and then Corey joined Conan onstage for his performance of “Vodka Cranberry.” Honestly, I’m obsessed.
Hoping we’ll see more adorable friendship moments between these two now that the full trilogy is out!!
