For decades, the MTV Video Music Awards have been a place where budding pop stars could make a name for themselves by winning the red carpet. And this year did not disappoint, thanks in large part to Conan Gray, who absolutely stole the 2025 VMAs red carpet.
Conan, who is set to perform during the show, walked the red carpet in an eye-catching Erik Charlotte design. Part sailor outfit, part pirate frills, the intricate gown was definitely a standout of the night and perfectly matched Wishbone’s nautical theme. The gown featured a puff sleeved jacket, a drop waist corset top and layered ruffled skirt, and Conan topped off the look with white platform Hallgrath boots from Roker, and a matching hat.
Conan’s outfit may have stolen the red carpet, but his date also had plenty of people talking. The artist posed for photos with his friend and music video muse, Corey Fogelmanis, much to the delight of Conan fans everywhere.
But while fans are busy speculating on Corey and Conan’s relationship, designer Erik Charlotte took the opportunity to post about Conan’s outfit on Instagram, giving the artist “major flowers” for wearing the entire look. According to Erik, the entire outfit is “almost entirely” made out of denim and “weighs, like, 30 pounds.”
Walking a red carpet in 30 pounds of dress and platform heels? Now that’s an award-worthy feat.
