Blackpink’s Lisa may not be at the 2025 VMAs—but she did just take home a Moon Person in the Best K-Pop category for “Born Again” featuring Doja Cat and Raye. Also nominated in the category? Aespa for “Whiplash,” Jimin for “Who,” Jisoo for “Earthquake,” and Stray Kids for “Chk Chk Boom.”
“Hello everyone, this is Lisa. I’m so honored to be receiving this award. I want to thank MTV and VMA for all their love and support,” The White Lotus star said in a pre-recorded message.
Lisa called Doja Cat her dream collaborator back in January and told Capital Breakfast, “I was trying so many different kinds of music styles while I was recording. I was like, ‘Oh, well I’ve never done this kind of stuff before, but it sounds great. Why not just kind of like put all the different styles into the album and call it Alter Ego?’”
She added that Alter Ego was partially recorded in Thailand while she was filming The White Lotus and joked, “I don’t sleep.”
Sleep is overrated, IMO!
