Michael B. Jordan is back on the big screen, starring in another Ryan Coogler–directed masterpiece. The two have worked together on Fruitvale Station, the Black Panther films, the Creed trilogy, and now the 16-time Academy Award–nominated horror film Sinners. Ryan even took home Best Original Screenplay for the movie at this year’s Oscars.
And this project isn’t just serving us the great Coogler-Jordan filmmaking matchup. It’s introducing us to another iconic duo: Michael B. Jordan...and himself. The actor is pulling double duty playing twin brothers (which seems to be a reemerging pattern from horror movies these days).
Set during the ’30s in the Jim Crow–era South, the film follows twin brothers Smoke and Stack who are trying to leave their troubled lives behind. They decide to return to their hometown in the hopes of starting over again, but upon their return, they soon discover that a greater evil has been waiting for them.
If you’re a fan of thrillers, Ryan Coogler’s work, Michael B. Jordan, and...Michael B. Jordan, then you definitely won’t want to miss this. Here’s what you need to know about watching Sinners.
