Not to (loosely) quote our screen queen, Ayo Edeberi, but…I’m seated. The Met employees are scared and asking me to leave because it’s “not May yet,” but I’m simply too seated for the 2026 Met Gala. Especially because Beyoncé is confirmed to return to the highly-coveted fashion event for the first time in a decade, which leads me to believe that she might have something (read: perhaps an Act III album announcement) up her sleeve.

While fashion’s biggest night commences on the first Monday in May, there’s already so much to look forward to aside from Queen Bey, who’s joining Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour as this year’s co-chairs. Costume Art! What that means exactly has yet to be determined, but head curator of the Anna Wintour Costume Center at the Met, Andrew Bolton, told Vogue that the exhibition will be the first of its kind and address “the centrality of the dressed body in the museum’s vast collection,” by pairing 5,000 years of art represented in The Met, alongside garments from the Costume Institute.

We are truly being fed with this year’s Met Gala co-chairs. Every year, Anna Wintour appoints a few A-listers to help pull the whole thing together. In the past, we’ve seen Zendaya, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, and Colman Domingo in the position.

In 2026, we can look forward to literal icons Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams as the Met Gala’s co-chairs.

The 2026 Met Gala host committee is equally as legendary. Yves Saint Laurent’s creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, will co-chair the 2026 Met Gala host committee alongside Zoë Kravitz.

Other members include Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Alex Consani, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Paloma Elsesser, LISA, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor, Lauren Wasser, Anna Weyant, A’ja Wilson, and Yseult. Vogue’s new Head of Editorial Content, Chloe Malle, is also on the host committee.

According to Vogue, more members will be announced at a later date.
